Winter is coming!

Fjallsarlon during winter

From snowy landscapes to aurora borealis displays, winter in Iceland offers so many things which other seasons just can’t provide. In fact, even if you’ve visited in summer, the country just might warrant another visit just to experience the seasonal contrast.

On the coldest days at Fjallsarlón, the lagoon freezes. When the lagoon freezes you get a whole different sight than during the summer. You get to see how the frozen water trappes the icebergs and sometimes a pale of snow surrounds these magnificent natural sculptures.

Because the water is in the risk of freezing during winter we do not have scheduled boat trips. However we recommend; a walk around the lagoon, taking photos and inhale the crisp mountain air. After walking around the lagoon it is perfect to get all warm and cozy in our Bistro and enjoy our refreshments.

Frost restaurant will be closed from November 10, 2019, until March 1, 2020.

Better safe than sorry!
