Your journey begins with an exhilarating Zodiac Boat Tour transfer on one of Iceland’s stunning glacial lagoons, Fjallsárlón. An experienced guide will expertly navigate you through a labyrinth of floating icebergs, offering an up-close view of Fjallsjökull glacier and the towering Vatnajökull, Europe’s largest glacier. This is your chance to witness the serene beauty of the icebergs as they drift gracefully by. The boat transfer is around 20-30 minutes across the lagoon where you will be dropped off at the glacier’s edge to start your next adventure.

Next, you’ll embark on a breathtaking glacier hiking experience on Fjallsjökull glacier. You’ll step onto the secluded Fjallsjökull glacier, an outlet glacier on the South Coast of Iceland. This ensures a quiet, personal, and crowd-free experience. Our expert guides will lead you for 60-90 minutes on the glacier, allowing you to explore the untouched beauty of the ice, create unforgettable memories, and witness the raw power of this frozen landscape. Please note that there is a short scenic hike from where the boat docks to where you hike onto the glacier.

After your glacier hike experience you will head back to the boat and be transferred back across the lagoon.

The age limit for this tour is 14 years old. If you have younger children in your group, we can offer a private tour experience. For more information, please contact us directly.

Please note that in the unlikely event that conditions on Fjallsjökull glacier are not favourable, we may need to change the glacier hike to a different outlet glacier close by. In that case, the boat tour and the glacier hike will be done on separate occasions during the day.

What to bring

We highly recommend that you arrive dressed according to the weather. You will be going onto a glacier, and it can get cold. So please dress warm and in layers.

Keep in mind

Please note that there is a short hike (approx. 4 km.) each way to and from the glacier, as well as hiking on the glacier. The hike is on an uneven surface as well as on a glacier. If you have a hard time walking, or have underlying health issues that may cause fatigue, this might not be the best tour for you. Our guides will ask basic questions and evaluate each guest’s health condition before heading out. If our guide is in doubt that a person will be able to take part in the tour, we reserve the right to not allow that person to take part due to health risks.
