LAVA SHOW Vík: The World’s Only Live Lava Show

The first and only place in the world to see real, flowing lava in a safe indoor setting. Located in Iceland’s Vík, the show offers a close-up look at volcanic power through heat, light, and sound.

An incredible and unique experience

Real lava from the 1918 Katla eruption is reheated and poured into a showroom, letting guests feel its heat and watch it flow from just a few feet away. The event includes an educational video on Icelandic volcanism, stories about Katla’s history, and interactive demonstrations with lava formations.

Wheelchair accessible. Arrive 10 minutes early. The room gets hot, so remove layers before the show. Pregnant women, people with infants, and those with cardiovascular issues should sit further back. Keep goggles on whenever lava is present.
