Tour details
Each hut can accommodate two people in a double bed. The unique Aurora Huts are designed with comfort and style in mind, featuring glass walls and ceilings for exceptional views of the winter landscape and northern lights from the cozy indoors. The Aurora Hut offers an innovative, eco-friendly lodging experience. These comfortable, modern huts are easily transportable across ice, snow, or water, ensuring no impact on the natural surroundings. This unique mobility allows us to position them directly on the frozen glacier lagoon, providing an unparalleled winter experience free from light pollution, other travelers, and traffic. The Aurora Huts are fitted with a composting toilet, a small kitchenette, electricity, and Wi-Fi. Please note that there are no shower facilities in the huts or at Fjallsárlón. The age limit for the Fjallsárlón Glacier Lagoon Aurora Huts is 20 years old. Exceptions can be made for 12–19 year olds when accompanied by a guardian. For example, a family of four with two children could stay in two huts where one adult would accompany one child in each hut.

Important information
The walk from the reception area to the Aurora Huts takes approximately 10–15 minutes. This is a scenic walk with incredible views over the glacier lagoon. In winter, the path may be snowy or icy, so guests should be prepared for winter walking conditions.

Contact UsThis is an exclusive tour with only three Aurora huts available for each night and a maximum of six people, two people in each hut. For groups of more than six people, it would be best to divide the group so that six people can join the tour each night.

Accessibility
The area around Fjallsárlón is kept in its natural form. In winter, the gravel paths may be covered in snow or ice. Guests must be able to walk on uneven surfaces. We do not recommend this activity to individuals with significant mobility challenges due to the natural terrain and winter conditions.
