At Fjallsarlon Iceberg Boat Tours we start operating boat tours on the lagoon in the beginning of April until late October, weather permitting. We operate boat tours every hour during high season June, July and August between 09:30-17:30. For more information and timings click the BOOK A TOUR button.
The total sailing time is 45 minutes. Preparation, walk to the boats, cruise and return to base takes about 75-90 minutes.
We recommend booking tours in advance especially during high season June, July and August. We are however likely to be able to fit you in on one of our tours if you show up and decide you want to join our adventure.
The age limit to able to join a boat tour is 5 years.
Difficulty rating is easy, you need to be able to walk on gravel path for approximately 5-7 minutes (each way) to the lagoon and your boat. Also, you need to be able to sit in the boat for 45 minutes.
We recommend that you bring a hat and gloves on our tours. In Iceland, the weather can quite unpredictable so dress accordingly. We also recommend that you bring your camera for those priceless photo opportunities!
Yes, we provide you with a specialized floating jacket that will keep you warm on the tour. We also provide you with a life west.
You will find Fjallsarlon in southeast Iceland, just of the main ring road no. 1. Type “Fjallsarlon Iceberg Boat Tours” into Google maps and you will get directions. Fjallsarlon parking lot is easily accessible for all cars. Also, you can look for a sign by the main road where you should exit the main ring road.
The safety of our passengers is a top priority! Our sailors are highly trained, they know the lagoon and know how to react in case of any incidents. To this day we have sailed without any accidents, therefore you can rest assured that you are safe on our tour.

Our tours are a small boat adventure that gives you a rich and personal experience, as well as we sail closer to icebergs and the edge of the glacier. Fjallsarlon is simply perfect in size for boat tours! We always sail up to the „wall “. The glacier at Fjallsárlón is extremely impressive, we call it the Glacier Giant, as it is massive and steep, you truly understand how small we humans really are!
The difference between tours is that on our Private Boat Tour you have the boat exclusively for yourself and therefore more flexibility where and how you sail during the tour.
Scenes from Game of Thrones were filmed at Fjallsarlon Glacier Lagoon, so Jon Snow and his fellows from the Wall have been at the lagoon in the past…. Unfortunately, Jon Snow will not be on-site during your visit 😉
