ICEBERG BOAT TOUR
Your multi-adventure includes a boat ride on Fjallsarlon glacier lagoon, navigated skillfully by an experienced guide through icebergs of various shapes and sizes. Take in the view of Vatnajokull, Europe’s largest Glacier and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. Each iceberg creates a natural show along the way, moving gracefully before your eyes.

GLACIER HIKE
The second part of this unique experience is the scenic glacier hike on Fjallsjokull glacier, a place we have secluded access to. This means you’ll have a quiet and personal time on the glacier (60-90 minutes) led by our expert guides. You’ll get to see the untouched beauty of the glacier, make unforgettable memories, and explore what the glacier has to offer on the day. The walk to and from the glacier takes about 45 minutes each way offering magnificent views along the way.

JEEP RIDE
Before the glacier hike you will board a jeep for a fun 15 minute. ride and again after the hike for a return drive to basecamp, making this multi adventure tour engaging and enjoyable.

Yes, Jokulsarlon is better known but it looks like an amusement park with tons of people and multiple vendors offering tours by raft, amphibious vehicle, and kayak. But Fjallsarlon is quiet and peaceful. There are just 2-3 rafts on the lake at a time with friendly, knowledgeable guides. The lake is small enough to see and get close to the glacier that is calving the floating icebergs. After stopping at Jokulsarlon and seeing the zoo there, we’re really glad we reserved our raft trip at Fjallsarlon.
A glacier hike with small groups ensures an intimate and enjoyable experience.

I’m writing this about 1.5 weeks after we did this tour, and now at the end of our trip, I can say this was one of the highlights. I read about Fjallsarlon as the quieter and smaller brother of Jokulsarlon, so we decided to do the zodiac tour here. We had been close to glaciers before, but never on a boat on a glacial lake. I can now say that that experience is VERY different from looking at it from the shore. It was amazing to float in the zodiac in between the icebergs and quite close to the glacier.

This reasonably priced and well equipped boat tour was awesome. You are given a super warm long jacket and life vest before setting out on the zodiac type boat – about 8-10 people/boat. The excellent guide takes you close to lots of icebergs – small to gigantic, and also hangs out in front of the glacier’s snout. Lots of photo ops.. unhurried pace, uncrowded and magical. So much better than the completely touristed out larger lagoon tour at Jokulsarlon. This place is a treasure. Super helpful and friendly staff.
