GLACIER HIKE
Embark on an extraordinary adventure on our glacier hike. This tour is perfect for adventurers who like to go off the beaten path as this journey takes you through untouched, alluring landscape to Fjallsjökull glacier. Then step onto the glacier and explore the crevassess and the frozen landscape overlooking Fjallsarlon glacier lagoon in peace and quiet. Fjallsjokull glacier is a glacier outlet that crawls down from Vatnajokull Glacier.
With small group size, we ensure a personalized and crowd-free experience.
GLACIER HIKE OPERATION
Check in is 30 minutes before scheduled time. A 15-minute drive in a 4×4 vehicle will bring you to the starting point of your hike. Our experienced guides will then lead you through a stunning landscape, offering breathtaking views of the mountains, Fjallsárlón glacier lagoon, and the majestic Vatnajökull glacier to the glacier. The walk to and from the glacier takes around 45 minutes each way. You will then enjoy 60-90 minutes on the glacier before heading back to Fjallsarlon basecamp.
HIKING DURATION
The moderate hike covers approximately 5-7 kilometers and takes about 3 hours in total, including 1-1.5 hours on the glacier. This trip involves a small amount of walking ascent, making it manageable for most people in good health.
We are located in Southeast Iceland within Vatnajökull National Park, a Unesco heritage site. Parking is free of charge.
At Fjallsárlón Basecamp, you can enjoy refreshments at Frost Restaurant at your convenience.
