This glacier hike tour is perfect for adventurers of all kinds. The approx. 4-hour journey includes a short 4×4 transport and a scenic 45-minute walk to the ice. Once on the glacier, you’ll have 60-90 minutes to immerse yourself in this silent, powerful landscape, all while enjoying breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and the Fjallsárlón glacier lagoon.

Information

The Arctic Glacier Hike tour requires an approx. 45 minute long hike towards the glacier. The hike does not involve a lot of ascent on the way and should be manageable for most people in good health.

The age limit for this tour is 14 years old. If you have younger children in your group, we can offer a private tour experience. For more information, please contact us directly.

What to bring (recommended/required)

We highly recommend that you arrive dressed according to the weather. You will be going onto a glacier, and it can get cold. So please dress warm and in layers.

  • Good, warm outdoor clothing

Keep in mind

Please note that there is an approx. 45 minute hike each way to and from the glacier, as well as hiking on the glacier. The walk is on an uneven surface as well as on a glacier. If you have a hard time walking, or have underlying health issues that may cause fatigue, this might not be the best tour for you. Our guides will ask basic questions and evaluate each guest’s health condition before heading out. If our guide is in doubt that a person will be able to take part in the tour, we reserve the right to not allow that person to take part due to health risks.
